Pedestrian On 1-95 in Fairfield, Maine Struck and Killed By Tractor-Trailer Early Friday Morning
According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, at approximately 3:37 a.m., the Bangor Regional Communications Center received a call to 911 reporting that a tractor-trailer had hit a pedestrian on I-95 southbound at mile marker 132 in Fairfield.
Maine State Troopers responded to the scene and found that the deceased man, Mark Michaud, 49 of Fairfield, was hit by the tractor-trailer when he was trying to cross the off-ramp of exit 132. Damon Sylvia, 19 of Milford, was driving the tractor-trailer at the time of the accident.
The Maine State Police Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the scene, while the Maine State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle unit inspected the tractor-trailer.
Maine State Police Troop I troopers will continue to investigate the crash.
The exit ramp that Maine State Police had closed during the investigation has now been reopened.
